Bio
Ms. Vicars is a figurative artist who loves to play with color and shapes. She has a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in art although she feels that the academic kudos are not important "when one looks at work". "What matters", she says, "is the work." On her mask, she sought to create something that felt joyful and full of energy
Reflections
Pattern and color that changes the basic shape of this disk-like form. Masks were traditionally used as symbols of spirit. Elements of the divine that hides the wearer. The color and shapes of life often hides us from ourselves.
Hospice is a refuge for people seeking to make their transition from this experience with dignity, dying, with grace and in harmony where possible. It offers aid and solace. Hospice Mask Project fascinates me because of their inherent mystical application to life and dying
