Susan Trubow, a resident of San Mateo, California, has been an artist and teacher for more than 20 years. Her artwork has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including in Japan, the U.K. and Romania. Ms. Trubow teaches art to first through eighth graders at St. Matthew's Episcopal Day School in San Mateo.

Thoughts:

My mask design depicts the Muse - that is, the entity that inspires creativity. Hospice is an important support to people when they are dealing with death. It was an important service for my cousin who died of liver cancer last May.
