Trained in graphic design at CSU Chico, Mr. Kowalski ran a successful graphic design studio for several years, then began building unique, one-of-a-kind clocks from antique parts and mechanical components. His work has been exhibited in galleries coast-to-coast. Today, in addition to his design firm, Kowalski Designworks, his is also president of Timeworks, Inc., which manufactures clocks he designs for the retail industry.
Thoughts
Because clocks have been my passion -- and main business -- during the last several years, my mask design incorporates one. I love machinery and especially that of the late 19th and early 20th centuriesheavy steel plates, rivets, etc. The right side of this mask incorporates that "Jules Verne" industrial look. I have incorporated a clock into the left side of the mask because industrialization brought greater emphasis on timegetting things done more quickly, efficiently, and, at the same time, perhaps "fine-tuning" our already-existing "internal clocks."
