Thoughts:
For me, working on the Hospice Mask Project brought to mind the importance of ritual, rebirth and transformation in our lives, whether near birth or near death. The symbolism of the mask includes the opportunity for rebirth and transformations, and reminds us that without death, no rebirth is possible. The passage between life and death is through the same door. Mindfulness of death brings the opportunity for life to be fully lived.
