A Hospice volunteer for many years, Ms. Davis began oil painting at mid-age, taking occasional lessons and workshops. She now works primarily in watercolors.

I was listening to Ella Fitzgerald on a CD and this mask design just began and happened! "Bye-Bye Blackbird," Black is Beautiful, Ella the Great, Ella the Songbird -- I guess this mask is somewhat of a homage to Ella. I had so much fun and smiled when I finished, but wished that I could sing!
