An East Coast native now living in California, Ms. John is the author of the non-fiction book, Dying Unafraid (Synergistic Press, 1999), based on her experiences as a writer, a Hospice volunteer and a volunteer with AIDS groups and the elderly. Her work has also appeared in a variety of newspapers and magazines, including Parenting, Grist, The Fun, Literal Latte and San Francisco Chronicle.
