A resident of Burlingame, California, and graduate of Stanford University in Journalism/Advertising, Doris has studied with nationally known artists both locally and abroad. She has also studied for five years at the College of San Mateo's Art Department. Doris has enjoyed teaching pastels, oils, and watercolors for 25 years in her own studio and for the Burlingame Recreation Department. She is a signature member and past president of the Society of Western Artists and is a charter member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast. Her works are part of many private collections and she has shown in juried shows and galleries, winning numerous awards for her paintings.
Thoughts:
This mask design was inspired by my love for Native American jewelry and art. I have done many paintings of Native Americans with wolves as their spirit brothers - that is, with the wolf depicted on their cheek. It was such fun to create this design.
