A San Francisco native, Ms. Cassady didn't touch a brush until a "mature" age. She is a beginning artist who has won honorable mention for her mixed media work at the San Mateo County Fair. She enjoys experimenting with various media, collage being her most recent exploration. According to Dolores, "Art takes me out of myself and into an upper level of relaxation and spiritualism."

Thoughts:

My mask design is entitled "The Mighty Aphrodite," signifying love. I was introduced to the Hospice Mask Project by a good friend and, being a cancer survivor, I was very much interested in this VNA project. Chosing love as a theme, this quote came to mind: "Do you not see how mighty is the goddess Aphrodite? She sows and gives that love from which all we upon this earth are born."
