Thoughts:
My mask design is a facial image that I saw about four years ago on the wall of the Immaculate Conception Church of San Francisco. The image was formed by the shadow cast by the small leaves of a Drake Elm tree by a streetlight. It seemed to be someone praying. At that time, there were several unusual occurrences at this church, such as a glowing image of the Virgin Mary on the church's copper roof and an image of Jesus on the steeple. Many people saw different things. I feel blessed to have seen this praying image. The Hospice Mask Project has given me the opportunity to express and share this experience.
