Deborah Rumer is an instructor of drawing, printmaking and design at the College of San Mateo since 1975. Her major studio work has been in serigraphy, monotype and pastel. Her recent print series, "Spirit and Metaphor," was awarded a grant by the Philanthropic Ventures Foundation.

Thoughts:

My mask design represents the Earth's ancient wisdom to which we must listen for our well-being and for the health of our planet. Being grounded, being tuned to the natural cycles of the Earth's seasons, being respectful of our position and being care-takers of the planet is what Earth wisdom is to me.
