Bernique Oldham is a business professional who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She paints for relaxation and especially enjoys impressionistic art, finding it soothing. Her inspiration is her love for her husband who is her "best friend." Her painting sessions give them quiet time together.

Thoughts:

Our wedding vows included the words "Beyond the Bounds of Time." I saw the movie - What Dreams May Come, and now that is what I think of when I look at this mask - "Beyond the Bounds of Time·" just like the movie·.

I dedicate this mask to those who fear the next journey. I hope that through the Hospice Mask Project many will find comfort and emotional strength as they end what we know as our reality and begin a journey, an adventure, to someplace more beautiful and peaceful. I believe that there is something far greater than we could ever imagine waiting for us as we pass through this life to the next. Death is not an ending; it is a beginning.
