SUCCESS FOR HOSPICE MASK PROJECT 1999
In 1999, over 300 local artists, celebrities and dignitaries embraced the Hospice Mask Project in the San Francisco area. The collection included masks created by Kirk Douglas, Bob Hope, Robin Williams, SF Giants Barry Bonds & Rich Aurilia, 49er Ronnie Lott, Katie Couric, Al Roker & Ann Curry of NBC-Today, Steve Miller, Bobby McFerrin, Danielle Steel, Richard North Patterson, Peter Mintun, Charlotte Mailliard Shultz, George Shultz, Senator John Glenn, Dr. Dean Edell, Mayor Willie Brown, Mayor Jerry Brown, and artists Daniel Merriam and Tom Holland.
Through MaskProject.com, we welcome a national audience. Butterfield & Butterfield and eBay conducted live and on-line auctions of these one-of-a-kind pieces. To date, the Hospice Mask Project has raised more than $300,000.
